Alvin Crook III, is the current newly elected 9th Congressional Rep. for the State of Tennessee Young Democrats, former Shelby County Commissioner candidate District 12 and former president of the Shelby County Young Democrats 2015-2017. The thirty year old has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and currently works in law enforcement. His ground work includes working with homeless population in Memphis, serving as President of his Neighborhood Watch Organization and becoming a Prince Hall Free Mason. He is a member of the Urban League Young Professionals, Shelby County Young Democrats, Tennessee Young Democrats, Millenniums of Memphis, NAACP Memphis Chapter, Greater Memphis Democratic Club, American Criminal Justice Association and currently sits on as a Commissioner on the Downtown Parking Authority in Memphis Tennessee. While serving as president of the Shelby Young Democrats, Alvin became even more active in the community through raising awareness to vote, working to get Democrats elected into office, helping to rebuild the Shelby County Democratic Party and helping over 100 young people in Shelby County get jobs. In June 2015, a week after being elected as the new president of the Shelby County Young Democrats, Alvin received a "Father of the Year Award" from the City of Memphis for his very active role in his son life. January 2016, Alvin was named one of Memphis Flyer's 2016, top 20 under 30. September 2017, Alvin was named top 40 under 40 in the City of Memphis.
Alvin Crook lll grew up in Whitehaven, raised by a single mother "Lisa Ann Washington" and with two younger sisters. As today Alvin is a loving husband and father to his wife Andrea and their son Alvin IV.
